A spokesman for Hamas on Tuesday said committees to help settling outstanding issues with Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas' Fatah movement were formed.
The spokesman, Fawzi Barhoom, said five committees have been formed "to work in parallel and end the controversial issues at one time."
He said there is also a committee that will look into the issue of Abbas' term which will be ending in January next year.
The committee that deals with reforming the security services comprises Arab experts.
Barhoom added that his movement believes the United States still imposes a veto on the Palestinian reconciliation, but he stressed that the Palestinians "should pay attention to their higher interest."
Egypt works to settle a 16-month-old standoff between Hamas and Fatah. The crisis started last year after Hamas drove out pro- Abbas forces and took over control of the Gaza Strip.
